About Me
After I had to let go of my Great Dane, Echo, I found myself diving into Pilates as a way to work through my grief and find new direction. It felt like Echo was leading me to this practice, so I went on to become a certified instructor in her honor. Every class I teach is a nod to her—reflecting the grace and strength she brought into my life. Now, I’m passionate about helping others discover healing and balance through Pilates, inspired by the same compassion and dedication Echo gave me.

About Me

With a lifetime background of dance, sports and a Kinesiology degree focused on secondary phys ed, Jess brings an empowering coach energy to her classes. You’ll be listening to deep house and some chill downtempo and be put to sleep during a luxurious shavasana.
Jess brings strong energy, alignment-focused direction, and provides hands on adjustments.
You’ll be encouraged to take breaks as you need them, be willing to fall, and to meet your yogic community around you.

My teachings centre around a few major themes: self-compassion, anatomy-informed sequencing, cultivation of strength, celebrating diversity and curiosity with what’s possible. All of these qualities are taught with big doses of kindness and humour.

Gathering in open spaces for movement-based practices is my happy place; I’ve studied lots of things in those places like dance, rhythmic gymnastics, musical theatre, group fitness, and yoga.
I began with independent study in India then completed the 200 hr Teacher Training and hot training at YYOGA. I’ve also taken a variety of fitness module trainings like yoga/pilates fusion and dance-inspired movement programs.
My personal practice and my work as a teacher challenge me to deepen my relationship to myself, others, and natural world. My classes aim to be spaces where others can do the same because I believe that those experiences can be transformative and life giving:
- Meeting in open spaces
- Engaging in practice
- Bearing witness to one another
- Allowing those experience to change us

I took my first yoga class at the age of 14 with Jasmina Egeler and have been coming back to the practice ever since. I completed my 200hr and Hot trainings with YYoga, and have been lucky enough to be a part of this community for a long time. I have a background in ocean diving and I am always surprised by how the tools I’ve learned through that, like breath-work and pushing through discomfort in a way that feels safe, translate really well into the movement we do on the mat. I like alignment-based strong, yet accessible classes that have stability and fluidity embedded in them.

Playful and curious by nature, Jonas blends ease and challenge in his classes, creating an uplifting space for students of all levels. He has completed over 400 hours of teacher training, including foundational, flow, yin, and yoga nidra, and has been a dedicated student of Vedic meditation for over a decade.

And, naturally, began to share everything I learned with anyone who would listen. Today, I spend most of my day in motion, sharing my passion for effective movement with healthy and injured bodies alike. I teach with a focus on fun, accessible movement in a style that is grounded in my STOTT pilates training, while also incorporating elements of clinical pilates, yoga, functional fitness and the new things I learn every day about how to keep your body moving happily.
