About Ali:
I’ve been practicing yoga for a decade and have a deep love and reverence for the Yogic path. I’ve had the privilege to teach yoga locally and abroad for the past eight years and have a background in trauma-informed mental health work. I believe that yoga, breath-work and meditation are profound tools to aid us in balancing the nervous system and cultivating a strong relationship between our minds, bodies and spirits. With devoted practice, we can transform inner blockages to align with the transformative strength, wisdom and self-healing that we all innately possess. My intention is to assist you to carve out the space and time to develop a deep sense of listening and presence that will support and carry you throughout your life.”

What should students expect from your classes?
A dynamic, fluid and grounded practice that remains tethered to the breath and anatomically based alignment. Students are encouraged to make the practice their own and find the freedom to authentically express themselves and find release. I weave in layers of depth by leading a class that honours the historical lineage of yoga and principles of philosophy, psychology and mysticism through precise and poignant language.

What should students expect from your class?

Students will breath, elongate, sculpt, strengthen, and stretch in this multi-level low impact Mat Pilates/Ballet Sculpt movement sequence.

About Me

Emily is a born teacher, proud mother of three, and lifelong learner. She received her B.A. and B.Education from UBC in 2000, and has taught as a Certified BC School Teacher for over 20 years.

Emily has always loved moving. She trained as a ballet dancer until age 14, took up long distance running as a young adult, and skate skiing in her thirties.

Emily found Pilates in 2009 after suffering a back injury that would not heal using traditional rehabilitation methods. She appreciated having ownership over her healing and strength training as she was guided through the Pilates repertoire. She has earned a Pilates Mat Diploma from Physicalmind Institute Canada, and Pilates Mat, Reformer, and Apparatus Instructor Certification through Balanced Body Education.

Emily is known for her concise cueing and foundation first teaching. She teaches multi level large Mat Pilates and Floor Barre classes, as well as Reformer and Apparatus classes at studios on the North Shore and in Vancouver.

What should students expect from your class?

In my classes, I bring a fun, challenging, and creative practice incorporating various elements of movement that connect the students with themselves. Yoga, to me, is about self-discovery and self-development, and I aim to share that practice with my students.

About Me

Coming from an extensive dance background, yoga has always been a supplemental practice for me for over a decade. I specifically gravitated towards the hot and power styles of yoga because of the challenge that resonates with me. I have been a professional dancer for the past 15 years and currently branching into the choreography and acting world. I’m grateful to have chosen a path which I love deeply. I have been a part of the YYOGA community for several years now and decided to do my 200-hour Teacher Training with YYOGA. I’m also certified in yin and mat pilates, which I have also found a passion for. I believe in different forms of movement and how they can all connect.

What should students expect from your class?

A fun, dynamic, all-levels class that will have you feeling balanced, grounded, and energized.

About Me

I fell in love with yoga during my first class and have been practicing ever since. The physical, mental, & spiritual benefits of the practice became an integral part of my life on and off the mat, and teaching was the next step in giving back to the nourishing yoga community. During the pandemic, I took my 200 Hour YTT – a really rewarding and meaningful journey during a challenging time. I specialize in YHot, Flow & Hatha styles, and incorporate elements of nature, self-love & gratitude.

What should students expect from your class?

A lighthearted, thoughtful and dynamic exploration of shapes and breath guided by music to fuel your movement.

About Me

I took my first class in 2003 and quickly found, in the busyness of life, a challenging practice of coming home to myself. Over the years yoga has invited me to come back to the present moment, breathe through tension and grief, increase mobility and flexibility, and build strength. After many years of classes, workshops, and trainings, I began teaching in 2019.

My teaching is influenced and informed by many lineages and modalities including Vinyasa, Flow, Vinyasa Krama, Hatha, Restorative, Iyengar, Anusara, Movement Method, Mindfulness, and Pranayama. My classes are creative and intentional. Each breath, each movement is an opportunity to find balance – between strength and softness, form and function, rigidity and fluidity. I am passionate about daily movement on and off the mat and sharing yoga in community is my favorite way to explore the ways we can move through the world.

What should students expect from your class?

An opportunity to explore, play, and practice what will help you off the mat.

About Me

I bring to all my classes clear and precise cues, creative sequencing, uplifting ideas, and… myself. I am a cat mama who loves dance and cake, and learning everyday what it means to live a heart-centred life. For every class I teach, I aim to show up fully as myself and ensure that all students feel seen.

I am deeply grateful to my friend who convinced me to try my first yoga class in my early 20’s. Over the years, I have practiced in all sorts of weird spaces and with different teachers from diverse backgrounds. I found that the teachers I kept going back to created a space where I could feel protected enough – free enough – to fully let go and dive deeper. Now in my 7th year of teaching, I hope that I can do the same, and make each class a welcoming space for introspection and exploration.

I completed my 200 Hour Training with Semperviva in 2016, and in addition to short trainings for hands-on assists, Ayurveda, myth, and mantra, I am also working on my 300 Hour Vinyasa Training with Clara Roberts-Oss.

What should students expect from your class?

Expect a safe space to explore and play, as we connect to our body, mind and spirit.

About Me

I am a Physical Therapist, Strength and Conditioning Coach and Yoga Instructor in Richmond British Columbia. Empowering and helping others move is one of my biggest passions. My love for movement has always been two-fold – I love to move my own body, but I also love to watch others move.

I found yoga in 2010 and I never looked back. It started out as another “workout” and quickly transformed and expanded into all aspects of my life. The “Yin” quality of this practice, balanced out my “Yang”- dominant personality and lifestyle. The mat became my place of stability and gratitude. In 2015 I pursued my teacher training to share this powerful practice with others.

My classes are grounded on proper body alignment, stability, mind-muscle connection and motor control. My goal is to help students gain strength, mobility and balance as they connect physically and spiritually to their higher self.

A sweaty class with good vibes and lots of connection!

About Me

My name is Robyn, and I am truly honored to be here with you. My wellness journey truly began after some big life changes. I was in a challenging place and my mat was my safe space. What should students expect from your class?

Expect to feel nourished, relaxed and to laugh a little.

About Me

I was drawn to Yoga for its ability to calm my mind, reduce anxiety and inspire living in the moment. I credit Yoga for connecting my body and mind, and for teaching me how to breathe through even the most challenging situations.

YHot is my favourite yoga practice as it allows for a deep release while building strength and stamina. My classes focus on promoting strength, and emphasizing sensation. I create a safe space in my classes, my goal being to make every student feel welcome, supported and included.

Classes

What should students expect from your class?

A well themed and intelligently sequenced class to meet the underlying intention and tone of the day. My classes are full breath awareness and freedom in movement with attention to safe and individual alignment. You’ll leave class feeling energized, renewed, and inspired to take the “yoga” off your mat and with you into your day.

About Me

With an original background in dance and theatre, I first came to yoga to find another form of expression through my body. I immediately fell in love with the endless possibilities not only to expand the body but also the mind. Yoga carries me to a place where I can feel fully connected in body, mind and spirit.

I have been guiding and mentoring students through my teaching for over 15 years and I am forever grateful to the many teachers and students who have inspired me along the way. I am a RYT-500 and ERYT-500 teacher and have been co-leading teacher trainings for a decade. I teach inspiring classes full of breath awareness, curiosity in movement and attention to alignment in the body, in both Vinyasa Power Flow and Hatha style classes.

I am always seeking to learn and discover more through master teachers such as Janet Stone, Max Strom, Rod Stryker, and more. I am currently studying positive psychology through the Flourishing Center to deepen my emotional support to students, the community, and my family.

What should students expect from your class?

My classes are challenging and mindful, at the same time, grounding and playful. Think island vibes vibes!

About Me

I am a passionate yoga teacher and student from the Philippines!

Love at first class – that was what I felt after a flow class that I took more than a decade ago. I was drawn to the challenge and sense of calm that the practice gave me. The desire to deepen my practice led to a teacher training in 2012 which ignited the calling to share my yoga to the community. I completed my 500-hr certification with YogaWorks in NYC and I have been teaching ever since. My inspirations and mentors are David Kim, Heather Seagraves, Bernie Clarke, Rachel Scott, and Jasmina Egeler. My passion led me to co-own a yoga studio in the Philippines and teach in New York, Saigon and Vancouver. I am trained in Vinyasa, Restorative and Yin. As an island girl, I very much enjoy Stand-up Paddle Yoga!

I am also a plant-based Holistic Nutritionist, a Reiki practitioner, and on my way to becoming a Life Coach. I co-founded Ubuntu Festival – a movement that promotes wellness and mindfulness through yoga, plant-based food, and music.

When not on the mat, you’ll find me whipping up vegan treats while dancing to some cool tunes, or reading a self-exploration book.
