About Me

I took my first yoga class at the age of 14 with Jasmina Egeler and have been coming back to the practice ever since. I completed my 200hr and Hot trainings with YYoga, and have been lucky enough to be a part of this community for a long time. I have a background in ocean diving and I am always surprised by how the tools I’ve learned through that, like breath-work and pushing through discomfort in a way that feels safe, translate really well into the movement we do on the mat. I like alignment-based strong, yet accessible classes that have stability and fluidity embedded in them.

About Me

My yoga journey started in 2005 with Bikram’s 26&2 hot yoga. I knew right away the practice had deep impacts on the body, mind, and soul.

I have trained and gained certifications in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Hot, and Ashtanga yoga, as well as getting certified as a personal trainer and Pilates instructor. I also studied holistic nutrition and herbal medicine. I took advanced training most recently with the Ghosh Yoga organization in the traditional Bishnu C. Ghosh lineage.

I teach mostly powerful flows, designed to bring each practitioner to their own edge, not too much, not too little. I include functional range and mobility movements in my classes. You will also catch me teach yin, hot and other styles from time to time. Students can expect both their body and their mind to be brought into focus.

My main goal is to share tools and techniques in the yoga tradition, and to guide students towards their own inner potential to heal and be at peace.

What should students expect from your class?:

In my classes you can expect a choice-based, gentle practice with an emphasis in self-inquiry and self-resourcing.

About Me

I am a non-binary, creative, queer-identifying human, trained in instructing trauma-sensitive Yin, Hatha, and Vinyasa Yoga. I aim to practice cultural appreciation and humbly acknowledge the roots of Yoga date back thousands of years to the Indus Valley and are traditional to cultures other than my own. The intention in my teaching is to share the life-enhancing practices of Yoga (beyond Asana) with diverse populations and offer ways to feel safe and spirited in body and mind. With a special interest in inclusive, accessible practices, my classes are for all levels of ability and experience. My teaching style emphasizes choice, self-inquiry, and exploration to foster emotional resilience, self-sovereignty, and create space for individual expansion. Everyone is welcome to come as they are and bravely meet that self with compassion and curiosity.

What should students expect from your class?

Slow and considerate sequences with an inquisitive and playful approach.

About Me

I am an artist and have studied nature, art and yoga as healing modalities. My real yoga journey began when I became part of the incredible YYOGA community, which inspired me to complete my Hatha and Yin training with Lucy St John and Niki Inglis. I enjoy sharing an authentic practice full of heart, including anatomical knowledge with skeletal variation awareness. Both certifications were trauma informed and explored cultural sensitivity, which I believe is integral to support true inclusion within the yoga community. My fascination with exploring a slower practice grows every day, learning how a quieter process can nourish our mind, body and nervous system, to help us move through life with more ease and grace. I am deeply passionate about helping my students find emotional and physical nurturance, by offering choice, modifications, and encouragement for self-expression.

What should students expect from your class?

A well-rounded physical sequence that targets all the major areas of the body, with lots of options and a wee bit of yoga philosophy mixed in.

About Me

Hi! My name is Reith and I am a trauma-informed yoga teacher on the stolen land of the Coast Salish peoples, in what we now call ‘Vancouver.’ Yoga has been a part of my life since I was a youth, and the practice has been my steadiest companion throughout periods of depression, celebration, and everything in between. In 2023, I completed a 200hr teacher training with the amazing trainers at YYOGA, and a trauma-informed training through Yoga Outreach. My goal as a teacher is to create a welcoming, non-judgemental environment where everyone from beginners to experienced practitioners can experience moments of a calm mind through focus on breath, sensation, and eye gaze. The power of yoga to regulate our nervous systems and make friends with our bodies is such an incredible tool and it is my deepest honour and privilege to share this ancient South Asian practice with others.

Classes

What should students expect from your class?:

An easeful and kinesthetic practice supporting self-study.

About Me

I completed my 200-Hour YTT and 50-Hour Yin YTT in 2023 with YYOGA, and am joyful to be able to share Yoga with all. In the 2010’s while completing my Kinesiology degree, I started practicing Yoga daily and quickly experienced the physical benefits which helped balance my body. The Yin practice opened a connection to my inner self and helped me understand the value of rest and stillness. I love my days living and working in the Kitsilano neighbourhood, and am grateful for the people in my life. If I am not around the studio, I am likely on my way out to enjoy Beautiful BC. See you on the mat!

Classes

What should students expect from your class?

A wholehearted and alignment-based practice that aims to challenge while creating space to (re)connect back to ourselves with every breath.

About Me

With a lifelong love of movement, along with the curiosity that comes from self-exploration, I started teaching in 2013 in Pilates Fusion and further expanded my offerings with Yoga the following year. I offer classes that are fun, challenging and nourishing to create a well-balanced practice that supports others in (re)connecting back to themselves in every moment. To practice what it means to be here and now, to be mindful and aware, while allowing room for possibility. In addition to my offerings on the mat, I am also a certified Life Coach and I hold certifications in Yoga Nidra and later this summer 2024 I will have further training in neuro-informed breathwork.

Classes

What can students expect from your class?

Yoga philosophy, awareness of Self and a little laughter.

About Me

Because I started practising Yoga & Ayurveda in 1996, you’ll step into an experiential guidance of traditional knowledge in my class with a touch of humour. As a practising yoga therapist, I have a curiosity for innovative yoga anatomy that is holistic so you may transform your self-awareness and notice more self-acceptance and freedom over time. As the Co-director of my yoga school, I have taught more than 10,000 hours in yoga teacher training programs. I aim to guide you toward your “inner knower,” a place of calm, resiliency, and enduring stability. I’m a student at heart and I have learned to appreciate my mistakes. Warning: If you’re in the right class, you’ll get a Vedic story.
