Quynh has been practicing yoga for nine years and teaching for five years. It is her own personal practice which nourishes her, and you will find her as a student on the mat or in a fitness class most days, gaining insight and inspiration from her community of fellow teachers and yogis. She was first introduced to yoga to when her acting teacher brought in a yoga teacher for a special workshop. Inspired by the experience, Quynh joined YYOGA, where she able to explore breath and movement in a way that helped her connect deeper, both to herself and to those around her. This led her to complete a 200-Hour Teacher Training in 2014 with YYOGA. She teaches yin, prenatal, hatha, and YHot classes. She believes in continued learning and training in all areas of life, seeking out the presence and gift of a beginner's mindset. Additional teacher trainings completed include 50-Hour Yin with Bernie Clark, 85-Hour Prenatal with Teresa Campbell, 25-Hour Vinyasa Flow with Seane Corn, Meditation with Carolyn Ann Budgell, Yoga Nidra with Michèle Denis, and YSculpt with Hana Weinwurm. Quynh's classes are a warm invitation to let go of doing, and get into feeling. “Your only job is to breathe, and to watch yourself breathe”. The end goal of the yoga practice is not about getting stronger in the poses, but about practicing presence so you can show up in your life off the mat.
What can students expect from your class? A common thread in all my classes is the invitation to observe and witness your experience. Breath is the life force, and the initiator of all movement and thoughts. My strong focus on alignment and physical form is not in pursuit of a shape, but rather as a pathway inward. The body is not used to get into the pose, but rather the poses are the way into the body. My hope is that fellow yogis leave my class knowing a little bit more about themselves, and feeling physically, emotionally, and energetically spacious.
