What should students expect from your class?

Students will breath, elongate, sculpt, strengthen, and stretch in this multi-level low impact Mat Pilates/Ballet Sculpt movement sequence.

About Me

I am a born teacher, loving mother of three, and lifelong learner. I have taught as a schoolteacher for over 20 years, and private piano teacher for 12 years. I have always loved moving! I trained as a ballet dancer in my childhood, took up long distance running as a young adult, and skate skiing in my thirties.

I found Pilates in 2009, after suffering a back injury that would not heal using traditional rehabilitation methods. I immediately appreciated having ownership over my healing as I was guided through the Pilates repertoire. In addition to healing my back, I noticed how my dedicated bi-weekly Pilates training greatly improved my posture, core strength, balance, anxiety, coordination and prevented injury while I pursued my outdoor passions of running and skiing.

Bringing together my love of Teaching with that of Pilates, I started my Pilates Teacher Training in 2019, earning a Pilates Mat Diploma from Physical Mind Institute Canada, and Pilates Mat Instructor Certification through Balanced Body Education. I continue my training with Balanced Body Education on the Pilates Apparatus’, as well as attend workshops offered by local Pilates studios.
