Diversity is the key to creativity. 

Shortly after moving out west in his early twenties Tyler started practicing yoga, primarily in the style of Ashtanga yoga. This physical discipline proved therapeutic as an integration of awareness of a moment through movement and Tyler returned to Toronto to study and complete his E-RYT500 certification. 

Tyler is a graduate of Breathe’s 300 hour teacher training program as well as Yoga Space’s 200h and advanced 300h YTT. He holds his Pilates Mat certificate through East to West Yoga and Pilates and most recently completed a certification as an FRCms (Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist) with Dr. Andreo Spina. 

Tyler’s inclusive and interdisciplinary philosophy towards teaching is inspired by multiple movement modalities. In his classes, he encourages creativity, and experimentation to nourish each individual’s path toward growing a differentiated and authentic movement practice. On the mat you can expect exploration of the functional versatility of various props and tools, and a focus on developing an adaptive approach to training strength, joint mobility and flexibility. Tyler’s classes merge functional movement skills with a sense of somatic investigation and a blend of humour for good natured encouragement.
