Krishna (formerly Phyllis Chan) initially became interested in yoga as a way to cope with stress and anxiety. On her healing journey, she has become intrigued by the intersection of science and spirituality. She teaches practical ways to deal with stress and shares functional movement techniques encouraging alignment in a safe and supported way. She is in her tenth year of yoga teaching and has trained in various styles such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Dharma, CORE (Trauma Sensitive Yoga) and Yin yoga. She is an enthusiast and she loves it all.
She was introduced to Pilates as a method to rehabilitate from injuries incurred from long distance running and yoga. She is trained in the Stott Pilates method which is a contemporary approach based on modern principles of exercise science and rehabilitation. She has studied anatomy and exercise physiology extensively and has a solid grasp on the mechanics of the human body. She loves to share Pilates because it is excellent for building longer, leaner muscles and correct posture. Pilates can teach healthy movement patterns in the mind and body which is helpful for injury rehabilitation and prevention. It has the potential to enhance exercise performance and functional mobility.
In addition, Krishna is a Reiki Level 3 practitioner and teaches Reiki Yoga Healing workshops. She feels blessed to offer Pilates, Reiki and Yoga as methods to bring the body and mind into total alignment.
Krishna is known for her passion and her ability to put people at ease. She loves to empower her students with knowledge of the body and mind.
