Betty Meng is a professional dance artist, choreographer, performer, dance teacher, fitness instructor, yoga instructor, model and actress that is in love with the beauty of movement. As a professional dancer, Betty trained and performed internationally to destinations such as New York, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Taiwan and Italy. However, after a devastating knee injury while she was dancing abroad, Betty turned to her yoga mat for rehabilitation and comfort. Her practice became her haven and she fell in love with the body’s ability to recover, relearn and grow.
Her passion for teaching emphasizes on optimal alignment and the best practice for everyone’s unique body. Her caring eye and alignment cues will ensure her students practice safely first before taking them further into their own journey. Her meditative voice will guide the mind, body and spirit through a practice that is actively present in the moment of Now, distant from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Her warm and supportive nature is grounding yet motivating as she encourages everyone to practice vulnerability on their mats, pushing boundaries without judgment.
Practicing, moving, dancing, collaborating, making art, teaching and learning is her passion. She always incorporates all three elements of her dance, yoga and fitness training, life experiences and infectious energy into all her classes. Her dedication to her work, her teaching and her students are unparalleled. Always striving to grow, you can find Betty almost everywhere and if she’s not teaching she’s most likely taking class!
What should students expect from your class? A safe space that welcomes all to practice free of judgment, together in harmony. We will journey together past the asana, connect through pranayama and experience the beauty of movement. With an emphasis on optimal alignment and the best practice for your body, we will practice, we will love but most importantly, we will experience the moment of Now.
