About Alia:
My name is Alia and I am a yoga teacher with a Masters degree in Social Work and Mental health, teaching & practicing yoga alongside my full time clinical counseling practice. I have been practicing and studying yoga, meditation, nutrition, and psychology for twelve years in pursuit of ways we can live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives. Through practice, I believe we can overcome stress, anxiety, grief and depression. As an Indian woman, I am fascinated by the roots of yoga, and completed my 500 hour training in Varanasi, India while living there in 2009. I feel passionate about creating inclusive spaces for diverse students to be a part of and challenging structures of society that confine us from participating or showing up as fully embodied, free individuals.

What should students expect from your classes?
Expect a strong, deep practice that moves slow and mindfully. I cue just alignment and breath, then leave you to experience presence in your practice.
