The Mentorship Program is the perfect bridge from training to teaching. Read below to find out what this 6-week program includes.
6 Weekly Coaching Sessions
- Participate in 60 minute 1:1 coaching sessions with your mentor (in person or remotely). Includes a kick-off meeting to develop a tangible plan of action for your 6-week course.
Goal Setting Support
- Together with your mentor, you’ll develop specific goals to personalize and ensure the mentorship meets your desired areas of learning. Some common topics are:
- Sequencing
- Alignment
- Cuing
- Language
- Presence
- Voice Skills
- Practice Teaching
- Hands on Assists
- Professional Skills
- Classroom Management
- Building your Classes
- Advanced Cuing and Refinements
- Anatomy
6 Observation Classes
- When it is safe to do so, join your mentor weekly as they teach (space permitting) to work on observational skills and become more comfortable in a studio setting.
6 Assisting Classes
- When it is safe to do so, learn to provide assists by joining your mentor in their class once / week, becoming comfortable in a classroom setting and working on observational and teaching skills in a real studio environment.
Regular Feedback
- Receive relevant feedback from your mentor throughout the program.
Designated Practice Space
- When it is safe to do so, during your six weeks, you’ll have access to a designated YYOGA space where you can practice teaching with your peers. This will be unsupervised and up to the mentee to organize.
Peer Review
- An opportunity to participate in self and peer review.
Community
- A community of like-minded yogis: Upon registering for the course, you’ll be granted access to the private and exclusive YYOGA Teacher Training Facebook group to connect with other teachers, exchange and share knowledge and experiences and organize practice teaching sessions with those who can support you on your journey.
A 200-hour yoga teacher training certificate is a pre-requisite for this program. If you are looking for fitness mentorship, a group fitness or personal training certification is required.
