"Our format is focused on preparing you for real world teaching. After all, we prioritize our graduates for teaching across our 12 locations so getting you ready to teach is our top priority! However, if you seek a space and community with which to deepen your practice and connect, you’ll find that here too."

With over a decade of experience with training Vancouver's yoga teachers, we thought we'd take a moment to answer a common question we're asked - what makes YYOGA's 200-Hour Teacher Training unique and what can you expect from our course content, trainers and format?
Here are a few reasons why we'll think you'll find our teacher training is unlike anything else in the city.
First, you’ll study with the best.
We work with the most qualified and knowledgeable trainers supported by the most comprehensive and high quality training available.
You'll benefit from our unique approach that we call "the YYOGA way".
At the heart of our teaching philosophy is the belief that yoga education is about empowering our students and encouraging their exploration within a safe, supportive and inspired environment.
With a comprehensive curriculum rooted in tools and techniques that illuminate classical elements with a modern lens, you’ll enjoy a structure that gives you the knowledge you need in a way that’s digestible, accessible - and most importantly, fun!
Our formats fit into your lifestyle and our curriculum prepares you with tools beyond anatomy.
Our format is focused on preparing you for real world teaching. After all, we prioritize our graduates for teaching across our 12 locations so getting you ready to teach is our top priority! However, if you seek a space and community with which to deepen your practice and connect, you’ll find that here too. Not all of our students intend to teach.
You’ll cover fundamentals like safe and creative cuing, vocal and physical presence, linking movement with breath, and the philosophical foundations of the practice. You’ll also learn about what many yoga school don’t teach you -- how to sequence to a peak pose creatively, and how to apply anatomy to asana to confidently set your students up for a safe practice. You’ll both experience these skills modeled for you and get practice in amongst close friends and community.
Whether you prefer alternating weekends and Wednesday nights or full week daily intensives, keep your day job while you train and select from the structure that best fits your lifestyle.
+ Enjoy continued support post-graduation.
The continued mentorship, continuing education programs available, and strong bonds our students make during training with both their faculty and fellow students serve as a foundation upon which authentic connection, inspiration, life-changing friendship and confidence blossoms.
