Jacci Collins
My journey in yoga began at the age of 6 when I started practicing backbends and handstands in my Grandma’s living room. My parents recognized my love for performance and enrolled me in dance. After completing a BFA in dance at SFU, I returned to yoga as a complementary form of training and experienced not only increased strength, stamina and flexibility, but also compassion, inner awareness and love. Though my base is in Ashtanga yoga, I have since fallen in love with Vinyasa Flow as it promotes safety, variation and creativity. I also teach Hatha Yoga with an emphasis on integrity in each posture. My classes encourage a strong awareness of physicality along with self-acceptance and trusting the innate intelligence of the body. I’m a big music fan, so don’t be surprised to hear some Steve Reich, Brian Eno and Radiohead. I am currently a professional dancer and have been proudly teaching yoga to all ages and abilities since 2004.
