"I honestly signed up for the 30 Day Challenge on a whim, not really knowing what I was getting into or what I wanted to get out of the experience. I just knew I needed to do something to shake up my life. There were times when I wanted to quit, when it was too hard and when I was so tired I could barely get out of bed. But when I got on the mat, nothing else existed except my body and me. My body, which I thought was so limited, transformed before my eyes. But the biggest transformation was my mind and my outlook on my life. The 30 Day Challenge made me appreciate the small pleasures and victories, such as being able to do a full Vinyasa flow without groaning! Amazing how your priorities shift when all you do is work, sleep and go to yoga! Thanks to all the amazing instructors and staff at Highgate for their support, encouragement and strong shoulders, which are very comfortable for crying on!" -Erica MacEachran (Lululemon Metrotown)
"Being a long-distance runner for 12 years, I have taken a sort of comfort in knowing that I could push my body to incredible feats of endurance. I participated in a 'yoga fit' class weekly, comfortable in the knowledge that I was 'cross training' (lol) and had come to the conclusion that the total lack of flexibility was just a natural trade-off for being able to run 26.2 miles.
"The opportunity to participate in the 30 day challenge has been truly transformative, for my body, my mind and even my running: I find myself with strength and flexibility that I would have never felt possible before, and taking classes daily offered the added encouragement of seeing these changes happen, quite literally, on a daily basis!
"Now that I have re-integrated running into my schedule, I see an instant transformation: my stride is both longer and more productive, my breathing is easier, my mind is more focused and my strong quads are providing a much more stable base of support for my vulnerable knees. It was AWESOME, every class was a gift, and I can't wait to do it again! :) Thank you so much for this experience." -Jennifer Taylor-Langenberg (Lululemon Metrotown)
